Let's Go Back to All the Start Up References So Far in Hometown Cha Cha Cha

 4 weeks into Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Kim Seon Ho's portrayal of Hong Du Sik makes us fall in love with him every time. And this is how it was for Start Up as well (at least for me).

There have been many scenes that remind us of his character in Start Up, that has been infused into the Hometown Cha Cha Cha story. Here are some of that.

Halmeoni

Some of Kim Seon Ho's most memorable scenes in Start Up were his scenes with Dalmi's grandmother. And his relationship with Ms. Choi has been his strength when he was alone and he needed someone. 

Same with his character in HomeCha. Ms Gam Ri has taken care of him and gave him love and support when his grandfather passed away. 

Both times, these halmeonis loved him and he loved them as well.

One of the most painful scenes in Start Up was when Han Jipyeong was driving Dalmi and she slept in the car. From that scene alone, I could already predict how painful it would be for our Good Boy. But that was written differently in HomeCha. This time, he slept in the car with Hye Jin driving, and she took good care of him while he was doing so. My first reaction was, pinili na si Good Boy. And I can't help but smile.

      Dusik as a Math Olympiad winner

      Hyejin initially undermined Dusik's ability because he is unemployed and does odd jobs in Gongjin. She was surprised that he is a graduate of the prestigious Seoul National University. He is very intelligent and was even a Math Olympiad winner. 

     This is where I think writer-nim is Team Good Boy. In Start-Up, it was Nam Do San who was the Math Olympiad.

     Dusik talking about self-driving cars

     In episode 5, Dusik finally met Sung Hyun and kind of toured him in some part of Gongjin. He told how he got lost one time and ended up in the area. That's when Dusik said "I hope self-driving cars will be available soon". Well, that self-driving car has been created by Samsan Tech and it's called Tarzan!

That Staff Shirt

Well, Han Ji Pyeong wears that shirt in one of the Sand Box activities. It may not be him in HomeCha, but I thought of him when I saw that.

Dusik Eating Noodles 

Well, it was heartbreaking in Start Up, Jipyeong eating noodles while confessing his feelings. In HomeCha, it was a meal with Hye Jin.

Dusik in the Rain

Another heartbreaking scene for Jipyeong. That scene where he was crying in the rain after talking with Halmeoni. Well, this time, writer-nim made it happy! The rain scene was with Hye Jin on the beach, And that smile is wonderful.
