Tragedy Struck at Itaewon Halloween Crowd Rush

On October 29, tens of thousands of people gathered at Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul causing a massive crowd surge.


According to Yonhap News on October 30, 149 people were killed and 76 were injured, a total of 225 casualties.

According to reports, 

The accident occurred when a crowd gathered on a narrow road about 4 meters wide, which was downhill next to the Hamilton Hotel in the center of Itaewon-dong.

 

At the time, there were rumors that a crowd gathered to see a famous celebrity or 'candies containing drug ingredients circulated around the scene'. But specific cause was not yet revealed. Also, police said there were no reports related to drugs.

 Queen of Tears had a very good start. A promising rating and a very interesting premise. When The Phone Rings Production Team Apologizes for Controversial Scene

 The production team of ''When the Phone Rings' has apologized for a sign language scene from the first episode. In the first episode, aired on November 22, sign language interpreter Hong Hee Joo (played by Chae Soo Bin) is interpreting for a news program. Because of a transmission error during the live broadcast, the program suddenly freezes on Hong Hee Joo signing the word for “mountain,” but was mistakenly interpreted as an obscene hand gesture.
