How Much Was Song Hye Kyo Paid for each Episode of The Glory?

 wikitree

Are you wondering how much Song Hye Kyo received for each episode of her latest drama, The Glory?

This was recently revealed by reporter Ahn Jin Yong, a Moonhwa Ilbo reporter, on his YouTube channel, when he revealed the highest paid Korean stars this year so far. He gave the estimated income these Hallyu stars have been paid per episode.

According to Ahn, Song Joong Ki, Lee Jong Suk and Ji Chang Wook may receive around 300M KRW for every drama episode. That's about PhP13.3 million pesos!
They receive a guarantee of more than 300 million KRW per episode for a TV drama. The licensing fees of one drama -  based on a 16-episode drama - can reach close to 4.8 billion KRW (212 million pesos) to 5 billion KRW (221 million pesos) (per country).

He also mentioned the popularity of these Hallyu actors overseas saying,

The projects that these actors and actresses appear in sell well overseas. Hallyu stars such as Lee Min Ho and Kim Soo Hyun already receive well over 300 million KRW per episode.

But he said that actresses receive less.

Jun Ji Hyun and Song Hye Kyo would command around 200 million KRW (8.85M pesos) per episode.

But given the popularity of The Glory, Song Hye Kyo might have already received more than that and is expected to receive more for her next projects.

What are the February 2022 KDramas we should add to our watchlist?

Meanwhile, The Glory part 2 will air on March 10.
