Interesting Things to Notice in Lovely Runner

 Mondays and Tuesdays will always be much-awaited for us KDrama lovers because of Lovely Runner. It's giving us the classic romcom feels, complete with murder mystery and angst of first loves.


To further our love for this wonderful drama, here are some interesting facts which we can try to recall while watching as observed and inspired by Twitter handler @misaeng1995.

About a year after the original incident on September 1, 2008,  Im Sol exposes her eyes to the sun during the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century which happened on July 22, 2009. This was a real even, by the way. 


In the original present time, before her first time slip, Sol buys the watch at an auction. It is in perfect condition. But when she read the news of Sunjae's possible death and goes outside, she collides with a cyclist, which broke watch strap. When she travels back in time, we see the strap still broken. 

In the original incident, on September 1, 2008, the strap of Sunjae's watch breaks during the confrontation with Sol's assailant.
In episode 1, on the night of Sunjae's murder, before it happened, the watch lights up in front of Sol. It lights up again when Sunjae died, it stopped at exactly 12MN, January 1, 2023. 

Each time Sol travels back in time, the watch stops and shows different times, 3:00, 2:00, 1:00). It seems like a countdown. This means she has just one more chance to take a leap back in time. And in episode 9, we see her in their college days, her final jump, it seems.

 Sunjae's watch also lights up when he saves Im Sol from drowning in the original timeline.


In their college days (current episode), Sunjae suspects Im Sol from coming from the future because he heard her sing the song, Sudden Shower,  he composed for her. 
But see, time did not freeze this time, unlike before when she says something from the future. This was because, the song already existed in 2009. That's when Sunjae made the song.

Sol's bestfriend once said, "There's no happiness without paying a price.". No matter how much Sol tries to change the past, there will always be a price to pay for something to change. 

I'm thinking, it's either Sunjae survives, but Sol will still lose her ability to walk. Or she will still be able to walk, but something will happen to Sunjae in return. Whatever happens, we know Taesung will have a special role in reversing these incidences. I still don't know how, but with his statement, he seems to know something like Sol. 

Everything is interestingly all related to the sun.  Sunjae is a member of the band Eclipse. Their names are related to the sun: Sol is a latin name meaning sun and Sun Jae. Im Sol's favorite color is yellow, which the the color of the sun.

Sol really is Sunjae's sun, illuminating him and protecting him from the rains in his life. Although Sunjae likes the rain, because after it, the sun comes up, and that's Sol for him.

Whatever happens, they will always be each other's savior. Sol jumps time and space to save Sunjae in every timeline. With Sunjae saving her every time. 

And with that kiss, let's hope the myth is true. Their marriage is now sure.

 Marry My Husband is in danger of being boycotted by netizens with Park Min Young's latest controversy. On January 15, Dispatch revealed that the actress received money from her ex-boyfriend, Kang Jong Hyun, during their relationship.
