Kim Hye Yoon's Role as a Devoted Fan in Lovely Runner Made Her Appreciate Her Fans More

 Kim Hye Yoon plays Im Sol in the hit tvN series Lovely Runner, a devoted fan of Ryu Sun Jae, lead vocalist of Eclipse.

This after she was saved with what Sun Jae has said to her on a radio show when she was at her lowest. After that, she became his biggest fan ever. She has wallpapers of him all over her walls, she buys his merchandise and albums, attends his concerts and knows the words to all his songs.

According to an article in Forbes, 

When Sol lost her will to live and wanted to give up everything, Sun-jae said something that touched her heart. He helped her find the meaning of life again. I think she couldn’t help but become a fan because she was so grateful. I think Sun-jae is a lifesaver for Sol.

 So when she heard the news of him passing, she hoped to find a way to reverse it. She discovers how she could go back in time to try and change his fate, over and over again. This series has taught Kim so much about being a devoted fan and about fandom in general.

I've never been a fan of someone as passionately as Sol. So I think this character helped me to experience first-hand what it's like to be a fan, and it made me appreciate the fans who support me even more.

In the series, Sol may have been a fan of Ryu Sun Jae, trying to save him from his untimely demise, but Sunjae himself has been saving Sol in every timeline, which is why he keeps getting hurt as well. The plot twists and turns give these two numerous chances of saving one another and changing their destinies. 

Kim Hye Yoon, according to the article by Joan MacDonald, was gravitated towards the script because it gave her an opportunity to play the same character in different stages of her life.
