Mr Queen Finale Is 5th Highest Rating in tvN History

 Congratulations Mr Queen! The finale episode achieved its highest rating in the series run.



The popular drama, top billed by Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun scored a nationwide average rating of 17.4 and peaked at 19.3 on February 14, its last episode. The series took first place across all channels including public broadcast networks.

It was the highest rating for the drama in its entirety. Not only that, it also made Mr. Queen the fifth (5th) highest rated drama in the channel's history; bested only by Crash Landing On You, Goblin, Reply 1988 and Mr. Sunshine. 

The records that the drama has achieved are:

  1. 3rd highest rating cable in Korean drama of 2020 (17.371%), bested by The World of the Married (28.371%) and Crash Landing on You (21.683%)
  2. 7th highest rating cable Korean drama of all time (17.371%), bested by The World of the Married (28.371%), Sky Castle (23.779%), Crash Landing On You (21.683%), Reply 1988 (18.803%), Goblin (18.680) and Mr Sunshine (20.18%)
  3. 2nd highest rating tvN drama for 2020 (17.371%), bested by Crash Landing on You (21.683%)
  4. 5th highest rating tvN drama of all time (17.371%), bested by Crash Landing on You (21.683%), Reply 1988 18.803%), Goblin (18.680%) and Mr Sunshine (18.129%)
  5. 3rd highest premier rating of a tvN drama (8.030%), bested by Mr Sunshine (8.852%) and Encounter (8.683%)
  6. 2nd highest premier rating of a tvN weekend drama (8.03%), bested by Mr Sunshine (8.852%)
  7. 3rd 2020 Korean cable drama with highest nationwide viewers (4.749M), bested by Crash Landing On You (6.337M) and The World of the Married (6.248M)
  8. 4th Korean cable drama of all time with highest nationwide viewers (4.749M), bested by Sky Castle (6.508M), Crash Landing On You (6.337M), The World of the Married (6.248M)


Another good news for Mr Queen fans, Kim Jung Hyun has personally written an OST for the drama, and he is going to sing it too!

According to Big Ocean ENM:

Actor Kim Jung Hyun, who plays the role of Cheoljong in the drama, took part in the OST ‘Like the First Snow’ [literal translation]. The track will be released on February 17.”

 


 "Like the First Snow" is an emotional song that expresses the desperate feelings of a man who wants to be with someone during the first snow fall.
