Why Is Doom At Your Service Not Retaining Audience?
Doom at Your Service dropped to its lowest ratings yet.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 8 of the drama became its lowest rated episode yet, at 2.7%. It was lower than its previous episode which averaged at 3.3%. It started out at the 4% mark but was averaging only 3% until it reached the 2% range.
But the thing is, it has a massive appeal overseas, selling rights to 150 countries! According to tvN, the series has been sold to Viki (US, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Belgium and Spain); Viu (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar); U-NEXT (Japan); Hongkong's NOW TV. It will also be broadcasted on MNet Japan, which is a Korean Wave channel.
The question now is, despite the momentous 8th episode, why is the series struggling to retain audiences?
First off, the visuals of the leads are amazing. The storyline is intriguing. The love story between a supernatural being and a sick woman gives off that mysterious vibe from the onset. How will they overcome the fact that he causes destruction and she is about to die? How will their love survive, if it ever will?
Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young have great chemistry and has been talked about by netizens even before the drama started.
Which brings us back to the question, why? Any idea?
