Netflix Squid Game Season 2, Not Yet Sure According to Director

 Surely you have watched the Netflix hit, Squid Game already. And if you loved it, you might have been expecting a second season. Sadly, its Director, Hwang Dong Hyuk isn't quite ready for another season yet. 

Well, in his recent interview with Variety, Director Hwang Dong Yeok said he does not actually rule it out, but he said he needs additional help if it happens.

I don’t have well developed plans for ‘Squid Game 2.’ It is quite tiring just thinking about it. But if I were to do it, I would certainly not do it alone. I’d consider using a writers’ room and would want multiple experienced directors.

Having written and directed all of the 9 episodes all by himself, tiring would be an understatement. This is not usually the case as sometimes a director can direct all episodes, or a writer can write all the scripts but not both for a whole series. 

In another article from Naver he also said that,

The process of writing, producing and directing by myself during season 1 was very difficult mentally and physically. It feels like6 of my teeth fell out and I had to get implants. If I do season 2, can I do it alone? That's why I always say that I can't go straight to season 2. But there's also an atmosphere where if you don't do it, you're going to be really upset, because so many people like it.

He also said that there are a few pictures that come to mind. But the idea he has for the movie he wants to do also comes to mind, so he wants to do that first. But he thinks he should talk to Netflix for season 2.
