The Foreigner Actors that Grabbed Our Attention in Squid Game, and One is a Filipino!
To anyone who watched Squid Game, you might have noticed these 2 foreigners were part of the 456 players vying for the 45.6B won in the deadly game. They are Anupam Tripathi and Chris Chan.
Anupam Tripathi portrays Player 199, Ali in the series. His character is an exploited Pakistani migrant worker who is not being paid by his employer for months. In episode 6, he met his demise when he was betrayed by Sang Woo (Park Hae Soo) and he lost in the marble game. It was one of the most devastating scenes in the drama.
His role and his portrayal of a trusting friend found its way into our hearts. And many were saddened by his untimely death.
Tripathi can also be seen in The 8th Night.
