Here's Why I Think Kim Seon Ho Can Survive This Controversy

 So many controversies and scandals from Korean celebrities this year alone. From Jisoo to Seo Ye Ji and the latest and one of the most controversial, Kim Seon Ho. 

I won't even talk about the cancel culture that we know is very strong in Korea. We already know that. I want to focus on why Kim Seon Ho might be different from the other celebrities that have been embroiled by controversies. I think this is because of his strong fan support. No matter what was thrown at him, they never pulled out their support.

Before his ex-girlfriend posted on Nate, Kim was on a roll; a high rated drama which just finished, a successful variety show, multiple endorsement deals. And then it happened. But despite what's happening, fans and friends have continued to show support and love for the actor.

On his endorsements; Domino's Pizza was the first to hide his images on its SNS site. And then other brands followed. However, brands like Canon, Nau Korea and Edition Sensibility decided to bring back his photos on their respective campaigns.

During the controversy, his just-finished drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha should have had numerous interviews because of its success. But because of the incident, these schedules have been pulled out. But not Arena Homme+ Korea. His photo interviews were seen on Cosmopolitan Korea's Instagram account. The interview and pictorial was done before the controversy came out but they opted to continue on with the publication.

Amid the controversy, a billboard ad in Seoul was placed and paid by fans showing their never-wavering support for the actor.

His Instagram followers fell after the controversy, from 7.4M to 7.3M. But even before the revelation of Dispatch, it has already seen an increase in followers once again. As of this writing, it already has 7.6M followers!

It's also noteworthy that his HomeCha co-stars did not stop supporting him. They continued to post pictures of him on their SNS accounts. Jo Han Cheol and Ko Do Yeon included. Even the production staff.

And who would have thought that during this backlash, he is still leading the 2021 Asia Artist Award popularity voting? As of this writing, he is still leading with 39.2% of votes!

As read on some articles, it is said that the Korean's opinion on Kim Seon Ho is divided. According to vlogger Danny Kim, Kim is canceled but there are a lot of people saying that at the end of the day, this is just between two people. 

Fans have been saying good things about the actor; how they loved his good personality on 2 Days 1 Night, how he treats others on set saying he's really a good boy for real. And up until now, the throwing of support for Kim Seon Ho is non-stop. This kind of love from everyone around him, might just be the key for him to come back strong and survive this.
