Son Ye Jin Reportedly to Start Filming For New Movie Next Year
Son Ye Jin will reportedly start filming for her new movie next year titled The Cross. It will start filming mid-2022 after she finishes her upcoming drama, Thirty Nine.
The film is set in the future, where people are divided and trapped by a border separating the poor from the rich. Son Ye Jin is to play Vera, who lives in the poor side of the border and takes care of her son after her husband died while attempting to escape.
On January this year, the filming of the movie was postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The preparations in Hollywood will take a longer time because of this. Ye Jin was supposed to start filming her scenes in South Korea last April but this has also changed.
The movie is a joint venture between Korea and the United States and will be directed by Andrew Niccol. His works include Gattaca (1997), In Time (2011) and The Host (2013).
Since the Hollywood filming did not start in September as expected, the actress started on her new drama, Thirty Nine, which started filming in August. She co-stars with Jeon Mi Do (Hospital Playlist) and Kim Ji Hyun (recently seen is a special appearance for Hometown Cha Cha Cha). She will be playing a dermatologist.
No release date has been set yet.
