Is Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun's Age Difference an Issue with The Glory?

 When Netflix announced the full cast for its new drama, The Glory, the pairing of Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun garnered quite an attention.


The Glory, written by Kim Eun Sook and directed by Ahn Gil Ho, is a revenge drama that follows the life of Moon Dong Eun, who was bullied in school and how she plans her revenge on those bullies and the bystanders who did nothing. Moon Dong Eun is played by Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun will likely be her male leading man.


After the announcement, netizens have commented on the age difference of the two.

Is her contract contingent upon performing with younger actors?

 I can smell another scandal brewing.

I don't mind her private life but she should really freshen up her acting.

I feel like men and older women are always angry whenever they see older woman-younger man couples.

She's working with a younger actor again lol

This is not the first time she was paid with a younger actor. Even her ex-husband, Song Joong Ki, whom she starred with in Descendants of the Sun, is four years younger than her. Park Bo Gum, her leading man in Encounter and Jang Kiyong from Now We Are Breaking Up are 11 years her junior.

Take note also that Lee Do Hyun's leading lady on 18 Again, Kim Ha Neul, is 17 years older than him.
