The Ji Chang Wook Scam - Actor's Agency Invalidates Supposed Fan Signing Event in Iloilo

Glorious Entertainment, Ji Chang Wook's agency just released a statement regarding the viral post on a supposed second fan meeting in the Philippines.

The statement reads:
NOTICE

Hello. This is Glorious Entertainment.

We would like to inform you regarding false information that has been spreading regarding the 2022 Ji Chang Wook Fan Meeting Tour being held in the Philippines, specifically the “CLEO L. DIMAYUGA” fan signing event in Iloilo.

Any Event that is not notified by the official ticket seller and promoter (BENCH), including the contents of the ‘CLEO L. DIMAYUGA’ fan signing event uploaded on Facebook, will NOT be held.

We hope that you take this into close consideration to avoid the purchase of any counterfeit tickets that are being sold by unauthorized sellers.

We have reported the situation and are closely monitoring the situation actively to ensure no one is affected.

Thank you.

This went viral on Twitter yesterday, as a certain Cleigh Di, says that Ji Chang Wook will have a fan signing event on November 8.

Fans called her out knowing it's a scam and she refuted these by posting another statement on FB.

The original post says:

To those who were circulating that Ji Chang-Wook visit in iloilo is a scam, I would like to correct you that it is not a scam.

Originally, Ji has no schedule in Iloilo — however I encouraged him to come and visit my City Iloilo — and with my proposal the Management and Board of Glorious entertainment agreed. It’s a side trip visit as his original fan meet is in Manila.

Glorious, is working out right now to correct the mix reactions of people. I am initially posting this authorization that Glorious given to me, as a proof that I am an authorized representative for JCW promotions in the Philippines.

Please stop bashing if you do not have the legit source. This is a first hand informations directly to me as the representative of Glorious for this Iloilo trip.

If you have doubts, don’t buy the ticket (not yet ready for selling) and wait for further notice. It was my overwhelming post that I wanted to get the hype of the people, and see how many will be the audience so we can adjust the time of the event.

For the record, I have not scammed and fraud people. I been in an Immigration business world wide and dealt with marketing and promotions of Canadian immigration programs and to the record I have an outstanding performance in this business.

After which, she further explained why it's taking longer for the management to respond:

Kindly, be patient for the official announcement of the Management, it’s Sunday today and the person for social media is out for now.

We will fix this soon and kindly ignore those who can not prove of what they write is true.

Again, I apologize that I was too ahead of posting the event — because we have a tight time frame schedule.

With regards to SM SuperMalls, I have a direct contact with my friend who is the head of their marketing and it was a last minute collaboration with them, please refrain sending them messages because we are in the process of organizing everything.

(We had an original sponsor that for some reason we have not met the conditions and since I don’t want to disappoint the fans in Iloilo, I personally produce the event, just to make things happen.)

She even posted supposed email exchanges with Glorious Entertainment, complete with the agency's logo and social media card.

If that's not enough, this user also posted her "conversations" with the actor on social media.
Excuse me, in these exchanges alone, I already see two red flags.
1. Ji Chang Wook exchanging messages in English
2. Ji Chang Wook calling her babe, my queen and saying he loves her infinitely?!

So it was picked up by Daily Guardian and by Tatak Ilonggo. Which made the posts more viral than it already is.
To make this even more realistic, the supposed schedule of the fan signing was posted by trndy.ph. According to the post, schedule is 9am to 6pm where you can pick a schedule and only 30-50 persons to be accommodated every hour; he will then follow with a show at SM Southpoint Grounds and tickets will be available at SM Iloilo at 5,000 pesos each. How elaborate!
With these, screenshots were taken and sent directly to Glorious Entertainment where the agency immediately took action.

Here's the thing. It is always the South Korean entertainment agencies that will announce any activity of their artists. This is coordinated with local producers who will then make their announcement afterwards. These producers sign contracts and NDAs (non-disclosure agreement) that might mean harsh penalties if not followed.

One thing more, for sure Ji Chang Wook's schedule is so tight he just has one night for his fan meet, November 6. And he will do a fan signing event on November 8? It's kind of absurd.

Meanwhile, the Wish Upon Me Star will have his legit fan even on November 6 at the SM Mall of Asia arena.
