Actor Chae Jong Hyeop Answers Questions Regarding His Military Service

Recently, there have been controversies regarding brokers in charge of corruption to evade military service, giving false medical diagnosis of epilepsy to help exempt individuals from military service. Actor Chae Jong Hyeop actually suffers from the disease and he answered questions regarding this.



Chae Jong Hyeop was born in 1993 and he shared in an interview that he's under military exemption due to a grade 5 (Wartime Labor Service) because of epilepsy, which started when he was in his 20s.

He collapsed when he was in South Africa and was advised to undergo tests in Korea. He received a grade 4 at the time and was told to come back for military duty after he recovers. But after 4 years of continuous treatment, it was discovered that there is something wrong with his cranial nerves, and he was diagnosed with epilepsy, which got him a grade 5 in 2018. 
The Nevertheless actor also shared the process of how he was tested. He stayed in a room for 3 days and 2 nights with a machine attached to his head, He said he is willing to go when he gets better. As it could be dangerous if he collapsed while holding a gun or a grenade.

He shared that he's still taking the medication every morning and when he feels the symptoms.

  allkpop Park Ji Hoon has impressed viewers with his performance on Weak Hero Class 1. All 8 episodes of the web drama Weak Hero Class 1 were released on November 18. It tells the story of Yeon Si Eun fighting against bullying using his smarts and wits, despite being seen as physically weak. Park Ji Hoon plays the lead role, Si Eun.
