  On the morning of December 28, South Korean media reported that the police have officially issued an arrest warrant for bar manager Kim Nam Hee (the person involved with Lee Sun Kyun) after she attempted to escape.  The female suspect, around 20 years old (a neighbor and accomplice of the female bar manager Kim Nam Hee in the extortion case involving actor Lee Sun Kyun), was summoned to court in the early afternoon today. She was apprehended and escorted to the Incheon Court where she covered her face while carrying a small child. Earlier, actor Lee Sun Kyun had filed a complaint against Kim Nam Hee and accused her of extortion. Faced with threats of exposing alleged extramarital affairs and the use of illegal substances, actor Lee Sun Kyun had borrowed money from his assistant and transfer 300 million won to Kim Nam Hee and 50 million won (equivalent to 38,700 USD) to the female suspect.  Dispatch says law enforcement failed to fulfill its duties with regards to the case of Lee Sun Kyun.  The funeral of late actor Lee Sun Kyun was held at the funeral hall of the Seoul National University Hospital. The funeral was held on the 29th.  Lee Sun Kyun has been confirmed dead by South Korea's emergency office. The Parasite actor is suspected of taking his own life. The report said that the actor was found without life in a car in a park in Central Seoul, Wednesday. Earlier, it was disclosed that the My Mister actor was found unconscious in an undisclosed location. Media outlets have reported that police were searching for the actor after his family reported that he left their home on Wednesday after leaving a suspected suicide note.  My Demon is still up there on the Netflix Global Top 10 for 4 weeks in a row. Since it's release, it has stayed in the global top 10 until now. 2 days after its release, it bagged the 4th spot with 3 million views on the platform. For November 27 to December 3, it climbed up to 2nd place with an additional 5.4 million views. There's a slight drop on the week of December 4 to 10 where it declined to 3rd place with 4.9 million views for the week. But immediately climbed back to number 2 the week after with an additional 4.2 million views. I wonder how it will fare on its 5th week. For sure it will stay on the Top 3 non-English series as well.

 After the controversy, The Story of Park's Marriage Contract's production team has reached out to the hanbok design company accusing them of stealing their design. On December 12, a hanbok company has issued a statement claiming how the MBC drama has aired their design without their permission. They stated, Our clothing that was used without permission in ‘The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.' Once a costume is sketched as a filming prop, there are cases where it is reused over and over again [in other dramas] over time… that would be a big problem. Surely this wasn’t because you thought it was okay to surreptitiously use the design, right? You used them by mistake because they are pretty, right?  After postponement due to Yoo Ah In's drug charges, Goodbye, Earth may be be released in April 2024. According to Netflix, Yoo Ah In's scenes will be edited out as much as possible. Goodbye, Earth tells the story of a world in chaos with people living their remaining time ahead of the apocalypse, 200 days before an asteroid is about to hit the Earth. The drama was supposed to be aired the year, but because of the drug controversies surrounding Yoo, it has been delayed.  Scriptwriter Hwang Jin Young recently had an interview and addressed the plagiarism issues surrounding the drama. After the drama premiered, some of its scenes were accused of being the exact same scenes from the movie Gone with the Wind and from other Western classics like Tess of the d’Urbervilles. At the time, the writer claimed that these classics served as an inspiration for her work. But after the finale, Hwang explained that the viewers were actually right, the show was actially a remake and not much of an inspiration. She stated, When I first thought of writing a ‘wartime romance’ K-Drama set during the times of the Qing invasion of Joseon, I found it difficult to overcome the pressure—more so because of how unsuccessful that war was. Castaway Diva ended last night and the cast have said their goodbyes. Park Eun Bin, who plays the titular role of Seo Mokha says, I was hoping that Mok Ha would become a milepost for my 2023, and I’m happy that I was absolutely able to achieve that goal. It was a year in which I did my best together with an amazing director, writer, cast, and crew.  Thank you to everyone who watched the drama. Both Mok Ha and I will always be rooting for you to shine bright and illuminate one another through your dreams.  Yoon Ran Joo, played by Kim Hyo Jin says her thank you as well.  Death's Game director, Ha Byeong Hoon recently revealed some things about the drama. Death's Game tells the story of Choi Lee Jae, who is about to fall to hell when faced judgement from the Grim Reaper. He was about to experience death 12 times. He mentioned thay there were new characters added who were not in the original webtoon.  For characters that were not in the original work, I worked on the script while thinking about the actor who could best express each character. He revealed that it took 6 months to complete the casting.  We worked hard for more than six months to cast the actors.   The casting process was more difficult than the script work. He also said that aside from those that have already been revealed, there are more actors that have not been  disclosed yet. There are actors who have not been revealed yet, so please watch until the end. Please pay attention to which genre and which actor will appear in each episode and what kind of performance he will perform
