Is Lovely Runner Based on SHINee's Jonghyun?
Lovely Runner was previously accused of being a reference to the life of SHINee's Jongyun. And fans of the group felt it was disrespectful as if using the idol for entertainment.

A: It was initially set to air in November, but it was pushed back to now due to production changes. The production team cannot control this.
Q: Why does the story go back to the debut year of 2008?
A: The production team wanted to write about the Beijing Olympics because the male lead was a swimmer. Plus, the band’s debut year is set for 2009.
Q: Why did they add the episode of the female lead listening to the male lead’s radio?

The male lead’s debut year in the drama is 2009. It is based on the original webtoon and is not a drama made with a specific character or situation in mind.
However, during the production process, we felt that the original work setting of six years before was not a big enough gap to depict the young days of the main characters. So, we decided to go back 15 years before to 2008, to show a contrast between the times.
Additionally, we inform you that the premiere date was determined by the drama block programming order and was not an intentional setting, as that is not realistically possible.
