Byeon Woo Seok became a phenomenon with his latest project, Lovely Runner. But fans know he's been in other projects before that. Let's look at some fun facts about him that we may (or may not) know about him.
He was a model before he became an actor
Byeon Woo Seok debuted as a model in 2014 under the agency YG KPlus. It's only in 2016 that he made his acting debut appearing as cameos in Dear My Friends, Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. His first leading role was in 2019 for Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency.

He is close with Kim Hyeri, Jang Kiyong and Nam Joo Hyuk
Byeon Woo Seok is close friends with singer-actress, Hyeri, whom he starred in the drama, Moonshine. He recently guested on her YouTube show, Hyeri's Club where they talked about their previous experiences.
As for Jang Kiyong and Nam Joo Hyuk, as they wer all under the same agency, it follows how they will get close to each other. And up until now, he still maintains a close relationship with them.
He did cameos in several hit KDramas
If you're an avid KDrama fan, you surely would remember his cameos in earlier dramas. Notably Scarlet Heart Ryeo, where he plays IU's cheating boyfriend, and in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, as Nam Joo Hyuk's character's sunbae.
He also appeared in Welcome to Waikiki 2, as Moon Ga Young and Kim Seon Ho's characters senior in high school. He also appeared in Search:WWW, as Han Min Gyu.
He can sing.
Obviously, if you've watched Lovely Runner, you already know this. The fictional group in the drama, Eclipse, where he is the lead singer, has even entered Billboard's Top 200 Global Chart. And yes, he sang the songs. Eclipse sang four songs which are part of the original soundtrack for the drama, including the famous OST, ‘Sudden Shower’ (์๋๊ธฐ).
He is very close to his parents.
In his recent appearance on You Quiz on the Block hosted by Yoo Jae Suk and Cho Sae Ho, Byeon Woo Seok said that his family often hug or give each other kisses on the cheeks, which he often does to his parents. He also mentioned that he would like to receive kisses from his parents and be showered with affection from them for the rest of his life.
He's done with his military service.
We wouldn't have to wait for 2 years anymore as he is done with his military enlistment last 2013. In an interview with ELLE Korea, the actor revealed this, that he's completed this before his debut.
His motto is "enjoy life to the fullest"
In an interview with The Korea Times, the actor revealed that his motto is to ‘enjoy life to the fullest’. He puts a priority on doing things which make him happy, which led him to pursue a career in acting. He realized how has passion for the job and hopes to be more ambitious to try out a variety of roles in different genres.
