Jirisan Achieves High Viewership Rating Despite Criticisms on Bad CGI Effect
Jirisan, the much anticipated drama of Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon has lived up to its hype, making viewership rating record for tvN.
Episode 1 boasted an average nationwide rating of 9.1%, breaking tvN history as the highest premier rating of a weekend drama.
Meanwhile, episode 2 achieved double digit ratings, 10.7%, a huge increase from the first episode.
However, it also received criticisms for its initial episodes.
When it was not possible to film so up high on a mountain, then the trusty green screen will be used.
Beauty Inside director Baek Jong Yeol pointed out flaws he has observed in a now deleted Instagram post. Sharing screenshot from the premier episode, he said,
I think there's something wrong with the direction. I guess there must have been a reason behind Jirisan. It's direction even made all those actors look like they can't act well. I'm sorry if it was done purposely.
Some netizens felt the same way, saying it has problems with the special effects and directing looks amateur. This despite the $27M budget and a star-studded cast.
Di you feel the same way with its CGI effects?
Mejo. Ang off nung scene na bumagsak mga bato ang obvious na cgi. I mean i know impossible na totoong bato ibagsak nila kaso feeling ko maiimproved pa yun.Sa story wala akong masabi sa effects lang talaga.Mukang napunta lahat ng budget sa mga artista.
ReplyDeleteyes there are some obvious green screen shots. but otherwise, story and cast, it was okay for me. :)
