Lee Yoo Mi Becomes First Korean to Win the Emmys

 Squid Game did it again. Lee Yoo Mi, who played Ji Yeong in the series, is the first Korean to win the Emmys with her role in the hit drama series.


The All of Us Are Dead actress won the 2022 Emmy for outstanding guest actress in a drama series. She is the first Korean to take home this award for the said category.

The actress gave her thanks in Korean when she accepted the award.
Thank you so much for this huge honor. I want to give my thanks to the TV academy, especially a big thanks to my Netflix team as well.
 

Then she said in English,

 I’m so very happy, thank you!

 Also, Squid Game is this year’s Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Production Design.
