The Staedler Pencil Sold Out in Korea Because of The Glory

Korean dramas usually features fashion and beauty products that go viral after being seen in the drama.

Think Squid Game's dalgona candy, Song Hye Kyo's Laneige lipstick in Descendants of the Sun and of course, the Kahi multi balm seen in almost all dramas out there.


Another product is added to that list, thanks to The Glory. The Staedler's Mars Lumograph. 

The iconic blue and black pencil was seen as a fashion accessory worn by Lee Sa Ra, an artist who is part of the group who bullied Moon Dong Eun in high school.
In one of the drama's many memorable scenes, Sa Ra got into a fight with Choi Hye Jeong during Son Myeong O's funeral. Due to her uncontrollable anger, Sa Ra pulls out the pencil from her hair and used it to stab Hye Jyeong in the neck.

According to reports, the pencil has been sold out in Korea and selling like hot cakes. One netizen commented,
"I have used this pencil for 20 years, but I didn't expect it to go viral in 2023"

Other are even saying that they'll never look at the pencil the same way again.
"Now I feel a pain in my neck when I look at a pencil".
