Confirmed - Squid Game 2 to be Released this Year

 The highest rated Netflix series, Squid Game, will be released this year.



Leading foreign media, Deadline and Variety, has reported that the highly anticipated sequel will be released this year, through an investment letter sent by Netflix to shareholders.

According to the letter,
Last year, the release of some works was delayed due to the Hollywood actor and writer strike, but we have big and bold plans for 2024.  
It is known that Netflix will release Season 2 of 'Squid Game', Season 4 of 'Emily Goes to Paris', Season 3 of 'Bridgerton', and Season 2 of 'The Diplomat' this year.

 According to Netflix, the drama has been watched 1.65045 billion hours of cumulative viewing time in the 28 days since its release, recording the highest number in Netflix history.

With its popularity, Director Hwang Dong-hyuk and actor Lee Jung-jae became the first non-English drama and the first Korean to win the Best Director and Best Actor awards, respectively, at the 74th Emmy Awards, the most prestigious award in the American broadcasting industry.

Also, Ho-yeon Jeong was the first non-English drama and the first Korean to win the Best Actress Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), while Lee Yu-mi was also the first Asian national to win the Emmy Award for Guest Actress, setting numerous new records.

Lee Jung-jae, the main character of season 1, and Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-jun, are expected to reprise their roles. In addition, actors Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Kyu-young, Park Seong-hoon, Jo Yuri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Da-wit, Lee Jin-wook, Choi Seung-hyeon, Won Ji-an, Noh Jae-won, and Kim Si-eun have confirmed their appearances. They started filming July of last year.
