Guwon may have been the Demon. He grants wishes, for a price - after 10 years, you go to hell. It was said in the drama how it was God who created him. But is he really a Demon? I don't think so. I think he really is an angel. He saved Jin Gayoung as a child.  It may be accidental but he took her under his wings, made her his human companion. And she thrived, so much different from what she could've been if she grew up with her abusive father. He made good men out of thugs. Who would have thought, these loan sharks can still be good people. After teaching them a lesson, and seeing how he could actually lead them, they saw him as their boss.
